Library Schedule
Check In / Check Out Procedures
- Library book check out begins the first day of school and ends the week before school is over.
- Time is allowed to check out and return books during your scheduled class visit as well as before and after school.
- Books are checked out for one week, but can be renewed as long as there is no hold or request placed on the book.
- Overdue notices are given when books are not returned or renewed. There are no fines for overdue books and books can still be checked out.
- Grades K-2 are allowed to check out two books at a time.
- Grades 3-5 are allowed to check out three books at a time.
- Staff may check out as many items as needed for any length of time.
If a class misses their library time or the library is closed, I will make sure you still get to check out and return books.
Lost and Damaged Books
If a book is lost or badly damaged, students will pay for the cost to replace it. The money is due at the end of the school year. A notice will be sent to students towards this time. Often the book is found in the classroom teacher's library or a bookshelf at home.
Book Selection Procedure
To make sure the library is full of outstanding books for you to read and explore, I check each book has specific qualities. My checklist is posted below.
You and our teachers can also make requests for books or other items. Use these forms below.
